Michael Jackson's 'This is it' Movie

M.J. This is it 1

"In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with ager, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe. My goal in life is to give the world what I was lucky to receive: the ecstasy of divine union through my music and my dance" M.J.

“I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
although I know we've drifted far
What about yesterday
What about the seas
The heavens are falling down
I can't even breathe
What about the bleeding Earth
Can't we feel its wounds
What about nature's worth?
It's our planet's womb.”

JIMMY CHOO'S PEP - October 28, 2009

Jimmy Choo announced the launch of Project PEP with the Elton John AIDS Foundation last night at Selfridges. PEP stands for "post-exposure prophylaxis", drugs which if given to those exposed to the HIV virus within 72 hours of exposure reduces the chances of developing the virus by 79 per cent. This project is designed to support the funding of the Simelela center in South Africa. Jimmy Choo will donate 25% of the net sales from the project to the Elton John AIDS foundation.
Apparently, there are already 1000 names on the waiting list for this limited edition punk rock motif print with studs collection!

SUPPORT MEAT FREE MONDAY

Scarecrow
Green Light

There's always two sides to the story. Let's not get into a debate as to whether meat eaters are less of an environmentalist or whether a vegetarian should not eat soy products. The truth of the matter is if we want to decrease our impact on the environment and help reduce carbon emissions, we should give up driving, flying and we should become vegetarian. In reality, most people can't commit to any of these or perhaps they can commit to one. However, most people can reduce all three! In my case, I try to support 'Meat Free Monday' by avoiding meat as much as possible, driving less, using less natural gas and electricity and using reuseable products. Whilst I support antipollution, I have to admit being a self-confessed globetrotter. Nobody's perfect but we try to live our lives in the least harmful way that we can and teach our children to do the same.
For the moment in some countries, meat is the most readily available and least expensive food source that is local and organic. Hopefully one day they will have more alternatives that are affordable.

Go here for delicious meat free recipes and perhaps you will also consider devoting at least one day a week to eating meat free.

salad 4

One of my favorite starters is this Mango salad made quick and easy
Mixed salad greens, philippine mango, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, pineapple, cranberries and raisins

Salad dressing:
Olive Oil - 2 tblsp
Japanese Riken Shiso Leaf and Seasoning Non-Oil salad dressing
(Aojiso Dressing)- 1 tsp
A little drop of lemon juice
Method: Beat together until a slight creamy texture

(You may add a little drop of sesame oil and rice wine vinegar if you wish)

Manger Sain!

Tips on how to wash salad greens and fruits:
1. Just before serving, hold the salad greens and fruits under clean running water to remove dirt.
2. Prepare a clean container filled with fine grain sea salt cold (not freezing) water solution. (Just not too much sea salt as the surface of vegetables and fruits are porous).
3. Soak for about 3-5 mins then rinse throughly in running water.
4. Take your salad for a spin in a spin & dry salad spinner and wipe fruits dry with recycled paper towels.
5. For wax coating on fruits, simply peel off the skin just before eating or serving.
If you need to cut fresh fruits ahead of time and avoid oxidization, pour a small amount of citrus juice e.g pineapple or lemon juice over the cut fruits.

Alexander McQueen - Spring/summer 2010 collection

Alexander McQueen, a man whose imaginations certainly knows no boundary creates another piece of art. Take a look at these montrous highheeled boots shape like an elephant trunk. One would say it looks ghastly but at the same time insanely creative, captivating and totally out of this world!

Hazards of mixing work and vacation

Mixing work on a holiday has its hazards, at least in my case. Two days ago something happened to me that caused me pause. I was told that I was competitive or 'kai su' in local lingo.I brought my love of photography and blogging to a vacation and it was not welcomed!!
Admittedly, I made some mistakes but it was certainly not pleasant for me to hear criticism about my 'babies', photography and blogging. I felt embarrassed and humiliated. I thought of striking back with some clever verbal retorts but I knew my true nature was not revengeful. It was still difficult though to exercise some self control under those circumstances. Perhaps if we had been able to communicate in the first place this could have been avoided.

Mistakes are building blocks of success. Our fears stem to a great extent from family and significant people in our lives telling us who we should be which does affect our direction in life unless we come to realize their influence. Many times we fail to communicate effectively because we feel we do not have a safe and proper platform to communicate. Another hard lesson in life learnt. Its time for me to embark on a road to self discovery once again.

I found this gorgeous lip color (8352) by Dolce Gabbana at Selfridges last week.

Red and bright colors - Lipstick review
20s and 30s -Obviously you have no problems associated with aging. You can go for strong colors e.g red to achieve that glamourous sexy look. However, be careful to choose the right shade of red for your complexion. You don't want to end up looking like Morticia Adams! Do use a lipliner to avoid feathering.

40s - You are losing a little plumpness on your lips and fine lines are starting to appear around the lips. Strong colors will definitely make your lips look thinner. - A good alternative is using lip stain which will be more flattering.

50s - Avoid dark colored lipsticks since it is very harsh, aging and will make your lips look smaller. It is best to go for sheer colors and a creamy lipstick. Avoid matte as they tend to settle into your lip lines.

Tips: Dab a bit of gloss in the middle of your bottom lip.
Your lipstick color should be in the same color family as your blush.

The UN Climate Change Conference - Copenhagen, December 07-18, 2009

Let's turn Copenhagen into Hopenhagen. Sign the UN Climate Petition and make change happen @

Why am I supporting this movement? Let's be honest here, human beings have been irresponsible to the extent of causing destruction to this planet because of their greed. We are getting rich by depleting all of our natural resources. What hope do our children have? It's sad to say but the truth is, our generation and our forefathers have robbed our children and their children's children of their inheritance which should have been a healthy planet. Now what we can do is to save what's left.

The climate clock is ticking......I was in denial but I can't be anymore.
This is my last one and only chance to contribute to saving humanity and all living things from total destruction. Can you please spare a minute of your time to read the petition and join me in signing up.
The talk this year is very important. If it fails and there is no agreement, it’s going to really constrain the ability globally to address this greatest of environmental threats.

We hold the key to our children's future. Make this our gift of hope to them.

"Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune–without the words,

And never stops at all."

Emily Dickinson

Thank you for doing what you can to help make a difference for our future generation.

Balmania has taken over Paris fashion week and the world by storm!
"It's warrior women and the military with a mix of different times and a touch of Mad Max," Decarnin told the International Herald Tribune. Structured shoulders of glittering chain-mail epaulettes, torn t-shirts, skinny legged silhouette in leather and distressed or aged bleached jeans, sequins in burnished gold and pewter, all of which represents the rock glam of today!
Christophe Decarnin is the hottest designer of the moment. Since he took the helm in 2006, sales have doubled each season.
Everyone wants a piece of Balmain.... I crave everything Balmain!
